New Answer Pad

The Answer Pad the great student response system and mobile learning tool has just been updated w/ a brand new polished look.  This is an excellent site/app that allows educators to turn their classroom paperless and do all testing/assessing on an iPad.  Also, educators can use Answer Pad for any subject and easily integrate it into their curriculum.  Teachers are using this to differentiate instruction and assess learning in real-time as they push out their lessons on to student's iPads and gauge their learning.  W/ tons of templates to choose from (i.e Math, Geography, etc.) an abundance of draw tools, and innovative portfolio feature that lets educators take a snapshot and save any lesson/exercise they have created, making Answer Pad a perfect mobile learning solution.

Also, besides the whole new website redesign new features are on the way such as: new drawing tools, improvements to Go Interactive making it easier for teachers to use, and much much more.

ClassMind

ClassMind is a nice learning tool that reminds me a lot of Geddit in that it lets educators assess students in real-time using their mobile devices.  The way this works is an educator asks a question and then students respond on their mobile device while answers are recorded in real-time.  This is a great way to track students learning as well as differentiate instruction.  Best of all, this can be used in any size class for any subject and easy to integrate into the curriculum.

Answer Pad

Answer Pad is one of the best free (per 1 teacher - 8 groups & 200 students) tools around for mobile devices.  This is a easy to use graphical student response system that helps turns a classroom paperless by allowing for all testing/assessing to be done on mobile devices.  Educators use the web interface to create lessons then push them out to student devices using the free TapIt app.  This allows them to guide learning, differentiate instruction, and assess students in real-time.

Also, there are lots of templates for teachers to browse through and customize to meet their needs.  For example, an educator can download a template of a graph, map, clock, grid etc. and then draw/type/annotate on it to use w/ their students.

Geddit

Geddit is a new educational tool that I just found out about from Edshelf.  This is a wonderful site that allows students to use any mobile device to gauge their understanding of any given topic/lesson.  The way this works as a lesson is being given they click/tap a on bar (think bar graph increasing vertically) to show their understanding (i.e., 1 bar - not very - 4 bars - very).  On the the teacher's device they will receive instant real-time feedback and be able to see which students are doing good and which ones are struggling.  This is a great way for teachers to differentiate instruction and adjust their lessons to meet individual needs.

Quizsocket

Quizsocket is a nifty little site that I just found out about from Free Technology 4 Teachers.  This site is designed for educators to assess students in real-time by having them login to a site (teacher generated code) on any device and then answering questions.  A teacher can give these multiple choice quizzes either orally or on a board and then have students answer on their code specified Quizsocket page.  One item to note, is that a quiz can not be created on Quizsocket it is only used for gathering answers and assessing students in real-time.
